Macworld Announcement: iPad, iTablet, iBook Touch?

What will today’s Macworld keynote bring? The optimists are hoping for a ultra portable tablet device that incorporates the same touch screen technology found on the iPhone and iPod Touch. The realists are saying that it’ll be an all aluminium, wafer thin new mac book. No touch screen, no solid state drive.

After the hype that surrounded last year’s keynote and the impact that the iphone has had on the technology world Steve Jobs will have a tough job on his hands dealing with people expectations. I suspect that a lot of the leaks that we’re seeing and rumours claiming to have authentic sources probably are pretty near the mark as Apple would be wise to rein in unbridled enthusiasm and hopes that people seem to have for their future products.

An iPad For Me

Personally, I’d like to see a touch screen tablet with a stylus or some kind of handwriting input. I’m not holding my breath though.

One thing’s for sure, even if you don’t attend the conference, watch live streaming of the keynote or follow the live blogging, there will be some news and it’ll be covered in the mainstream as well as the technology media. If you’ve got anything important to announce or launch maybe best to leave it a couple of days.
